Qigong

Qigong is a Chinese exercise that has been around for thousands of years. It is designed to open up the body energetically. There are many different forms. Some are designed to address a specific health issue while others are for balancing the energy in the body. We use the 8 Silk Brocade Qigong set which balances the energy within the body.

The energetic movement is accomplished primarily through coordinating breath and intent. However, the physical body is not ignored. Proper physical structure is important so we are not physically impeding the flow of Qi.

Qigong may help:

  • reduce stress
  • improve balance and coordination
  • reduce pain and stiffness
  • overall wellness

 

Qigong requires no special equipment and can be done anywhere. It is best to start with a qualified instructor to ensure that your posture and movements are correct. An instructor can also help modify movements if necessary. Our Qigong is easily modified to be done while seated.
